![]() ![]() Hush, the infamous serial killer who would skin his victims alive. What if jack the ripper was instead, Hush, Thomas Elliot. Hey guys, how's this for an alternate ending, which I feel would have fit a lot better. Overall it's very good! One of the more interesting and better animated features they have put out in a long time. It was so cool to see Dick, Jason and Tim all working together. My favorites were the little Robin orphans. It's cool to see familiar faces in this setting. What makes this are the characters though. Goes a bit fast and doesn't really have much depth to it. Pacing wise it's as expected from a 80 minute movie. The music is great, it elevates this film into a much more cinematic piece. It reminds very much of the 90s animated batman in the way that it's very cartoony, but also has a timeless look to it. ![]() While this is still not as fluid as I want out of a "film", nor does it has quite the details, it does look very good. They tend to have a very bland art style and poor animation. I have expressed my disappointment with the animated films post-flashpoint paradox. I never read the Gotham by Gaslight comic, but I gotta say this captures the essence of Batman very well in a very cool and refreshing setting! Plenty of Easter eggs and references, I'd love to see this world expanded upon with characters like The Accelerating Man or The Wonder Woman. Voice acting was pretty good all around, though the Irish accents some characters had were a tad suspect, but that's ultimately nitpicking. The fight scenes were animated very well, they felt incredibly fluid. The quality of animation is definitely a step up from previous films, there was a bit of obvious 3d modeling on the cab driver that was a tad annoying, but ultimately didn't take away from anything. The animation was pretty good, I absolutely appreciate the different art style, I wish they would start using different ones for their films, the "not quite anime" look is getting a bit old. The identity of the villain was actually a surprise which is great, usually they telegraph the identity far too early and the "twist" is never satisfying. The feel was definitely right though, it could have been a bit darker though. Just finished watching it, pretty happy with it, it's not that close to the book in terms of plot, but it was never advertised as such so I can't complain.
